The 21st Texas Volunteer Firefighter Relief Fund Parade of Lights thrilled spectators with 75 floats and vehicles on Dec. 9 and reminds us what amazing first responders we have working in our community. Hot chocolate and treats were enjoyed at the end of the parade at Cy-Falls High School where Santa and the Grinch made an appearance.
Highlands Residential Mortgage welcomed the Cypress community to an open house at its new location on Queenston just east of Barker Cypress. Festivities included a cake walk, chili from LT Sports Bar & Grill, wine bottle face painting by ABC, German beer from Klaus Brewery and tunes from DJ XYZ.

Inspiring HANDS held its annual fundraising gala on Nov. 3 at the Sterling Country Club. Proceeds from the gala and auction go directly to scholarships for summer camps and equine therapy benefiting people with disabilities. The 2018 A Taste of Cy-Fair event saw more than 1,700 happy attendees on Sept. 29 and was able to donate more than $37,000 to Cy-Hope. That's almost twice as much as last year, despite the threat of rain!
Shots for Holly held its annual kickoff party at Creekwood Grill on Sept. 8 to raise awareness about the importance of getting your flu shot. The August Friday Night Bites event in Bridgeland featured a yoga class from Shaka Power Yoga, Cypress Photo Camper and lots of good food from local food trucks. Friday Night Bites takes place on the second Friday of every month at the Bridgeland Lakeland Village Center and is open to the public.
The Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce held its third annual Corporate Challenge, which showcased the friendly interaction between area colleagues and Cy-Fair businesses as they competed in five fun corporate-themed field activities.
