This issue marks a year of bringing you Cypress Lifestyle! And what a year it’s been!

Moving from corporate America to start a small business was a daunting task, but the support and love I received from all of you has made the journey a wonderful experience. Thanks to everyone who came to the launch/anniversary party at Local Table. See the photos in the Good Times section.

Now let’s talk about kids and pets, which are what this issue is all about!

Llamas, horses and puppies! Oh my! Our feature story spotlights service animals who bring therapy and joy to residents of our community. These are just a few of the many animals and their owners who spend their time helping those who benefit from their visits throughout the area.

We love to promote local businesses and are excited to introduce Cypress Sweets, which combines kids’ favorites: candy and crafts! Whether you are looking for a sweet treat or planning a party, they have what you need to make your kids smile.

With summer winding down, you might be looking for a quick getaway vacation. How about planning a trip that is only a short drive away? The Woodlands Resort offers resort amenities for families, couples or girlfriends’ getaways, and it’s in our backyard! They have packages to suit every group’s needs—spa days, pet-friendly specials, golf outings and kids rule offers—something to make everyone happy.

Speaking of keeping the kids happy in the last few weeks before going back to school, we found three unique places to take your kids for fun day trips. If you are looking for an experience you can enjoy as a family, check out the Adventure 290 Scavenger Hunt. What a great way to learn about the rich history of our part of Texas while having fun in the process.

Every month we highlight the amazing philanthropy that is part of the Cypress culture. This month we share a Cy-Hope program that ensures Cy-Fair kids don’t go hungry. It is hard to believe that many children in our area get their best meals of the day at school. Cy-Hope’s backpack program provides children in need a backpack of nutritious food to eat over the weekend.

I hope you are enjoying Cypress Lifestyle. It is a labor of love every month as we share the best our community has to offer. Have an idea for a story?
